New Year's resolutions originated 4,000 years ago in Babylonia as a religious practice. Today, resolutions are less likely to be religious in nature and more about making promises to ourselves for self-improvement.
I dislike the word “resolution,” the idea of a “new you” and putting pressure on yourself. We’re all just fine the way we are. We don’t need to become a newer version of anything. We just need to treat ourselves and our bodies with kindness and do our best so that our mind, body, and spirit can function to its full potential. It’s taken me a long time to learn that I have one body and limited time on Earth, and if I want to make the most of it, I need to take care of myself–my whole self–or issues will start to arise. I don’t seek perfection, just balance so I can thrive, be happy, and contribute to my wellbeing, my relationships, my business, and my community. In the past, I would buy into starting a diet in the new year or trying to form new habits. Once I “fell off the wagon” with whatever goal I had set for myself, I would frequently give up, feeling guilt and disappointment. I finally had that “aha” moment a few years ago. No one is perfect, and no one can maintain perfection 24/7. In fact, it’s the surest way to burnout. Now, I give myself a break when I need it. I’m kinder to myself and when I miss a day or even a week of a practice, I just get right back to whatever it was as soon as I can.
I think instead of a hardcore resolution, I prefer to look at the new year as time to recharge, or reset my mind, body, and spirit. However you like to think of it, here are some tips and suggestions for how CBD can help you accomplish the wellness that most of us desire in order to thrive.
These are the ways CBD can help with your wellness reset:
CBD supports total balance
We all have an ECS, an endocannabinoid system, and it plays a vital role in helping our bodies stay balanced. In fact, it helps regulate our sleep, appetite, mood, and immune system. The body’s ECS has two cannabinoid receptors, CB1 and CB2, that send signals throughout the body to restore or maintain balance. Your body is always making cannabinoids however some people may need additional support. This is where cannabis comes in! Using low doses of cannabis can regulate your ECS. Using CBD can keep your body resilient. We recommend checking out other resources discussing ECS if you’re not familiar with it.
Most importantly, CBD supports a balanced body because cannabis is anti-inflammatory. CBD is one of many cannabinoids found in the cannabis family so it is also a natural and excellent way to offer anti-inflammatory properties into your system. There’s several options for you to choose from: ingestibles like drops or gummies, topicals like lotions or creams, or both together. CAASI Hemp CBD offers both and is beneficial in helping you with your wellness reset goals.
CBD eases your mind
When CBD is ingested, it binds to receptors in the brain and nervous system. The CBD (a cannabinoid) mimics what the ECS already does, calming the mind. However, it is non-intoxicating, so it also helps you stay focused. When you’re focused and alert with a clear mind, it’s easier to create goals and stay motivated to reach them.
CAASI has very versatile, non flavored water-soluble beverage drops that can provide fast-acting relief:
- Aids with focus
- Helps take the edge off
- Calms an overactive mind
CBD aids in muscle recovery
Finding a regular workout you enjoy offers more than physical benefits. Once the heart rate increases, serotonin is naturally released to the brain, so that physical exertion also helps elevate your mood. We go into detail about how CBD can enhance your workout in our post about fitness.
But what about muscle recovery? Topicals are a great way to get relief. When using a transdermal product the ingredients are absorbed into the skin and muscle tissue, but not into the bloodstream. That’s why there’s no concern of getting high when using full spectrum topical products. CBD topicals play a useful role in muscle recovery and relaxation:
- Aids with muscle soreness and recovery
- Offers anti-inflammatory properties
- Rejuvenates making it easier to be mobile
- When you don’t hurt you’re more likely to be active!
CBD rejuvenates your spirit
Ingestible and topical delivery methods travel into the body using different pathways, making it safe to use both in unison for more pronounced results if necessary. When you have mental clarity, are in a good head space, and your body is relaxed and pain-free, spirits will naturally be high (no pun intended). If you incorporate these items as tools in your daily activities, the immune system is naturally supported, making it easier to maintain whole body wellness.
We hope this information is helpful while you plan your wellness reset or recharge in the new year!
